1.
How much does it all cost?
We have a list of current family portrait prices on the ‘Prices’
page of the website.
2.
Can we choose our frames?
Yes. We have a selection of quality frames in different finishes
that will suit most living environments. You can choose the frame
that is most appropriate for the space in which your images will
hang.
3.
Is there a discount if I buy more than one?
Yes. Packages are available. Please ask for more details when
you arrive at the shoot.
4.
How come you are cheaper than some of your competitors?
We currently have lower overheads and this is reflected in our
prices. However, lower prices doesn’t mean we compromise
on quality.
5.
What does my free print look like?
Your free, framed, mounted image has approx dimensions of; frame
size 10x7.5 inches. Print size approx 6x4 inches. You have a choice
of black frame or silver frame. The free print can be colour or
black and white.
6.
How long does a shoot take?
Your £30 session lasts approximately 1 hour. In that time
we try out as many ideas as we can.
7.
Do we have to come to you or do you come to us?
It is normally more convenient for you to come to us as the lighting
and studio environment is already set up. We can come to you but
it incurs an extra charge. The shoot fee is £50 for a 1
hour shoot if we come to you. You have to be prepared for a certain
amount of disruption if we travel to you as we bring studio flash
and other professional accessories. It takes us about 20-30 minutes
to set up and the same again to strike down at the end of the
shoot. If you live further than 20 miles away from the studio
additional mileage is charged at 50 per mile.
8.
Can I have a CD with all the images on to send to relatives overseas?
Yes. A CD with all your chosen images from the shoot, processed
for easy emailing, will cost you £400.
9.
What if I don’t like my pictures?
This is highly unlikely!! If, however, you decide that none of
them are suitable you are under no obligation to buy further prints.
Therefore, you will have only spent £30 on the shoot fee.
10.
What about canvas prints and other contemporary finishes?
We can provide those too. Please ask for details at the shoot
and we can get bespoke quotations for you.
11.
How long does it take before we can see the images from our shoot?
We aim for the images to be ready within 48 hours. However, at
certain busy times delays may be unavoidable. Once the shoot is
over we can make an appointment for you to come and view the images.
12.
Once I’ve ordered some framed images how long do they take
to prepare?
Again we aim to be as quick as possible. The average time from
order to collection is 4 working days although it can be quicker.
During busy periods they may take a little longer. We will give
you a good idea of how long you will need to wait at the time
you order them.
13.
Can we bring our pet along to be photographed?
Yes, but with certain provisos. Well behaved, house trained pets
are welcome. There is a pet dog on the premises who is kept well
out of the way when clients are here. We should discuss the best
way to photograph any pet before you bring them along.
14.
What should we bring with us?
You should come along with lots of ideas and lots of changes of
clothes if you want to get the most out of your hour in front
of the camera.
15.
You mentioned changes of clothes….what kind of clothes?
It is a good idea to bring clothes that will co-ordinate with
the others in the photo. Generally speaking clothes with no garish
patterns or logos make the most pleasing, eye-catching images.
16.
What should I bring for the kids?
Please bring some changes of clothes for them too. Also they may
have a favourite toy, game or dressing up outfit that reflects
their personality. All these items can make a child feel at ease
very quickly.
17.
What is access like to your premises?
Good. There is currently free parking in the road and surrounding
area. Access to the studio does entail climbing some stairs.
18.
What if we want to get some more prints in 5 years time?
We currently archive all the images on 2 separate hard drives
and CD/DVD. Whilst no storage system is completely infallible
we are as confident as we can be that this system ensures the
images will be available to you for as long as you would like
them to be.
19.
Will my pictures be on your website or advertising?
We do use a selection of images for marketing the business. If
you don’t want to appear on marketing please inform us in
writing once you have made your final selection of images for
framing.
20.
My kids won’t sit still, how can we get them to pose for
you?
We can work with active kids. It often brings life to a picture
when we see children participating rather than just sitting stiffly
with a ‘plastic’ smile!
21.
But I hate having my picture taken…………….
Our photo sessions are as relaxed as we can make them. We won’t
make you do anything you are uncomfortable with. We can play most
kinds of music to help you relax. If you are coming for an individual
photo session you could always bring a friend for support. Our
experience suggests that most people are actually good at having
their photo taken but think they will be uncomfortable in front
of the camera. Once they see the results they realise there was
nothing to worry about.
